Parts & Tools You'll Need

- Garage Door Top & Side Weatherstrip Kit
- Utility Knife
- Garage Door Lubricant Spray
Step-by-Step Manual
- Open the door and clear the bottom track Raise the door fully and clean out any dirt or debris from the bottom edge and the aluminum retainer track.
- Pull out the old bottom seal Slide the old rubber seal out of the aluminum track — it usually just pulls out lengthwise from one end.
- Measure and cut the new seal Measure your door's width and cut the new T-style seal about 1/4 inch longer than the door to fully seal the corners.
- Feed the new seal into the track Fold the seal's T-shaped edge and feed it into the track from one end, working it through the full length. A little dish soap on the edge helps it slide.
- Replace the top and side seals Peel and stick (or nail) the new flap seal along the top and side jambs where the door meets the frame, overlapping corners slightly for full coverage.
- Close the door and check the seal Lower the door and check for daylight gaps around the edges. Adjust the seal position if light is visible anywhere along the perimeter.
